We offer a selection of registered SP bulls, available on the day of auction, and on occasion commercial bulls are also presented. However, our primary focus remains on registered SP bulls. All cattle available for auction are advertised in advance and can be purchased directly from the farm prior to the event.

Location:
Oswald Brangus Stud is a registered member of the Central Brangus Club and primarily presents cattle at auctions in the central Free State region. Previous auctions, that featured our cattle, have been held in and around Bloemfontein and Reddersburg.
Available options:
We take pride in presenting registered and breed-inspector-approved cattle at auction. All cattle are approved on the farm before the event, as well as at the auction grounds on the day of or prior to the auction. Any cattle that do not meet the requirements are disqualified from participating, fortunately our cattle have never been disqualified at auction.
We typically offer 5 to 10 bulls per auction, including both SP registered and commercial bulls. Occasionally, we also offer cows, calves, and heifers.
Vet checks & documentation:
All presented cattle are vet-checked at least 6 weeks before the auction. All bulls available for sale undergo a breeding soundness examination, with certificates and documentation provided. The bulls are tested for fertility and overall morphological soundness. Additionally, samples are collected from each prospect bull and tested for Trichomonas foetus, a venereal disease that is typically characterized by embryonic loss, and Campylobacter fetus, another venereal disease primarily associated with infertility and early embryonic death. Bulls are also tested for Brucellosis.
Furthermore, samples are collected from every bull and sent for sire confirmation. This process ensures the protection of the bulls' progeny and helps establish a clear ancestral background.

We take pride in producing exceptional cattle within our relatively small herd. We are proud to annually receive the certification: 'Small Herd with an Inter-Calf Period of Less Than 400 Days' at the National Show prize-giving. This certification is just the beginning, as we aim to build on each success and small win to continually improve the quality of our cattle stud.
